Train to Neverland | Week 57

I've always enjoyed the decompression I feel when I get out of Manhattan. I used to enjoy it when I lived on Roosevelt Island, and so after a very busy weekend I decided to head to Queens for this week's photo. I spent an hour shooting at the Queensboro Plaza subway station. Ironically, this week's photo was shot from the 7 train back home.

  • Oh no - you didnt!!
This picture is like a postcard...you know...like the ones we bought at the Brooklyn Flea. Love what you've done with the colors and light. And the composition is just excellent.

    Good work Ritwix.

  • "I want to go to there"...I love how the poles look as though they have been gently placed on the snow.

  • Thank you, thank you!

Amu, I was going for exactly that low-contrast, reproduced imagery kind of look. It forces you to make that leap into fantasy, and once you do, there's no turning back.

Neha, now I can't help thinking that the poles are all about to fall.

  • Looks like a watercolor painting! And the snow is adding some freshness to the bleak, industrial look. Nice one! :)

  • I like you now and thank you for acquiescing. I like the sense of optical perspective. Also like subtle color contrast.
